As my own PM, I’m always trying to plan every job taking into account all the steps you mention. Most of the time I can plan the whole job, but I’ll try MS Project, never heard of it before.

Thanks for your comment and I do understand your confusion, but the standard is just that: a standard. In a project that is large in scale and through the proper use of CAT tools inherent to such (TM, glossary, etc.), the number of words that can and should be expected increase. Also, these figures are considering the case of low complexity, which is used in conjunction with projects that are of greater complexity to come up with the average in the middle. Again, the figures are merely informative and by no means are they any sort of “standard” or demand.

Are you sure of the above statement? The standard in our industry is 250 words per hour, not 400 in half an hour or an hour…
